12th Annual Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday November 27, 2008 - 12 PM
Wisconsin's only Thanksgiving Day Parade starts at 12 Noon and runs through "downtown" Jacksonport
Best spot to watch is at the corner of County V and Hwy 57 - the Lakeside Park area.
This tongue-in-cheek turkey-day parade first started in 1997 and has grown a bit each year. It's a fun family event that goes through the heart of Jacksonport - up one side of the street and down the other. The road doesn't close, so if you just happen to be driving through town at the right time you might find yourself in an impromptu float waving at folks watching the parade! No candy necessary, just a good parade wave and a smile. New floats are always welcome - just show up at the Jacksonport Fire Station about 11:30 AM and you're in! Hope to see you in Jacksonport this Thanksgiving. Questions? Contact Jeri at (920) 823-2075.
A Color Guard leads the parade.
The parade goes down one side of the street, turns around, and comes back on the other side. The beginning of the parade (left) and the end of the parade (right). Classic!
It just wouldn't be a Thanksgiving Day Parade without the man in the red suit making an appearance.
4-H Club Walking Float
All American X-Mas Driving Float
Lots of photos to be taken!
Even a holiday train shows up sometimes...toot toot!
Special thanks to Jeri Taylor and others who help to organize the Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade each year.
